Patrick Park is a technology-focused litigator with two decades of experience litigating matters involving emerging technologies. Patrick
represents clients in complex technology and patent disputes with a focus on semiconductor, telecommunications, biometrics, and software
systems. He advises clients on emerging technology issues including IP strategy, biometric privacy compliance, and developments in artificial
intelligence and machine learning. His practice includes high-stakes litigation, licensing negotiations, and strategic counseling. Patrick has extensive experience with litigating in federal district courts, ITC Section 337 investigations, and Federal Circuit appeals.

Before starting his legal career, Patrick worked as a software developer, creating solutions for enterprise clients in media and finance in New York City.

Patrick is admitted to the State Bar of California, the Federal Circuit, and has appeared before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in IPR and reexamination proceedings.

  • Sonrai Memory Ltd. v. Various Semiconductor and Technology Companies - Defended multiple clients in patent litigation involving semiconductor memory technologies, focusing on memory controllers, NAND devices, operating systems, bootloaders, and processor interfaces.

  • Certain Mobile Electronic Devices and Laptop Computers (ITC 337-TA-1215) - Led technical defense for major technology company in ITC investigation involving two of several patents on facial recognition systems and multi-radio communications protocols, resulting in pre-trial dismissals of the two patents.

  • Certain Infotainment Systems (ITC 337-TA-1119) - Led defense on behalf of multiple auto manufacturers and tier-1 suppliers against two of several patents in ITC investigation concerning vehicle infotainment and media processing systems, resulting in a rare "no violation" determination.

  • Barkan Wireless IP Holdings, L.P. v. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., No. 2:18-cv-00028-JRG (E.D. Tex.) - Defended Samsung against allegations involving cellular communications patents related to base stations. Developed key claim construction arguments and invalidity defenses leading to favorable settlement.

  • Cellular Communications Equipment LLC v. AT&T Inc., No. 2:15-cv-00576-RWS-RSP (E.D. Tex.) - Developed non-infringement strategy for smartphone manufacturer in patent dispute involving 3GPP standards for LTE. Secured case resolution on favorable terms.

  • CY Technology Group LLC v. Groupon, Inc., No. 2:10-CV-7287-MRP (C.D. Cal.) - Defended Groupon in patent litigation involving method/apparatus for electronic product information. Secured dismissal on summary judgment, which was affirmed on appeal.

Biometric Privacy Litigation
